Ermias and Mulunesh Choliye

Ermias and Mulu have served God in their country Ethiopia since they were teenagers. They have worked in the Ministry of Education in Ethiopia. Ermias taught Physics in secondary school and Mulu was a teacher in one of the Addis Ababa primary schools. They joined the Church of the Nazarene in 1998.

After God¹s call to pastoral leadership, Ermias joined Africa Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya for ministry preparation and finished his Bachelor degree of Theology in May 2004. After this accomplishment, Ermias become an assistant District Superintendent for two districts (Ethiopia Central and South Central Districts). After his ordination in October 2004, he became one of the first national District Superintendents in Ethiopia. Later in October 2006 Ermias assigned to serve God as a local missionary in Ethiopia.

Through his leadership and service God has done mighty things in Ethiopia districts. The new church planting movements, pastoral training program, personal evangelism, Jesus Film show and the expansion of the Kingdom of God have exponentially increased the Church of the Nazarene in different people groups of Ethiopia. He preaches scriptural holiness and the salvation Gospel of Jesus Christ in the local churches, teaches personal evangelism and making Christ-like disciples in the districts, zones, Maheber conferences and local churches. Ermias also teaches in the CLI, Creative Leadership Institute classes and in districts extension pastoral training programs.

In July 2008 Ermias was assigned to serve God in His people in the Church of the Nazarene as Horn of Africa Nazarene Mission Field Strategy Coordinator in 6 countries based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Then, Ermias and Mulu moved to Africa East Field mission office, Nairobi, Kenya in April 2013 for new missionary assignments to involve develop leaders in creative
strategy, to involve developing Wesleyan – Holiness literature in Horn of Africa major languages, training leaders in NBC - AE and involve reaching unreached people group especially Refugee communities in Nairobi.

Currently Ermias and Mulu are global missionaries serving God and His people in the Horn of Africa based Nairobi, Kenya. They have three grown boys, Nathanael, Estifanos & Abeselom.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet

Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
