Serving in CIS | Eurasia
Joseph and Ree serve to enrich local churches in Ukraine and on the CIS Field.
Joseph and Ree have been serving with the Church of the Nazarene on the CIS Field since June 2012. The CIS Field includes the countries of Armenia, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and the area of Central Asia. Joseph ministers in the spheres of church growth and leadership development across the field, raising up leaders in youth, missions, and discipleship ministries. He also works with the Eurasia Region's new volunteer mission program, M+Power, which provides opportunities for people to participate in missions. Ree works with finances on the Ukraine District and takes care of their three young children, Hannah, Elijah and Elizabeth. They are alumni of Northwest Nazarene University (NNU), and call the Pacific Northwest their rodina (Russian for "motherland").
Joseph was called into ministry at the age of 13, and developed a heart for cross-cultural ministry at 16, after studying abroad in Japan. Ree accepted her ministry calling while attending NNU. They dated in college, and upon recognizing a similar calling to ministry, married after graduation. In June 2011, they felt called to go to Ukraine after hearing a specific need that described their abilities.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet
Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
