Emily and Danilo Aguilar

Emily was born in Guatemala where her parents served as Nazarene missionaries. During her adolescence they moved to Costa Rica where Emily received the calling to missions and began to serve in the local church as youth and worship leader. She finished high school in Nashville Tennessee and Cosmetology school in Kansas City, Kansas.
Danilo grew up in Pasadena, California and accepted Christ at 15 years old. He received his calling into ministry the following year and began working with local youth as an NYI president and has been serving as youth leader ever since. He graduated with a BA in Philosophy from the University of LaVerne. To further prepare himself for a life in ministry, Danilo moved to Kansas City to attend Nazarene Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Masters in Theological Studies.
Danilo and Emily met in church in Kansas City and after four years of friendship they became a couple. Soon after getting married in May 2010 they moved to Chicago, Illinois to finish their studies. Emily graduated from Roosevelt University with a BA in Psychology. Danilo graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago with a Master of Urban Planning and Policy. After losing their first born Giosue, the Lord showed them that the greatest value in life comes from serving God, which led them to wholeheartedly pursue their calling to missions. Danilo and Emily welcomed their second child, Sohvi Seláh, on April 13, 2014 and moved to São Miguel, Azores to serve on their first assignment as the Senior pastors of the Ponta Delgada Church of the Nazarene and to coordinate all outreach programs, site development and creative ministries on the island.
On July 26th, 2017 in Ponta Delgada, they welcomed their third baby, Grace Ester. In December of the same year, the Aguilars moved to Lisbon, Portugal where they currently serve in various ministries in the Portuguese District, including church planting, youth and women’s ministries.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet
Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
