Esteban and Dhariana Murillo

Serving in MARO on Global Deployment | Mesoamerica

Dhariana Balbuena from the Dominican Republic and Esteban Murillo from Costa Rica got married in 2011, since then the Lord has been leading them to serve in many different ways in local church, district and country. It's been a long process for them but now with peace they say yes to the Lord's calling to dedicate their lives to serve as global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene.

Esteban is a Computer Engineer and worked as such for 15 years. Dhariana is a publicist who used to be a single missionary before marrying Esteban and then dedicated her life to be a teacher.

They served as youth pastors for their local church and district for 5 years, also coordinated NCM for the country of Costa Rica for 3 years.

This is a family of three, Etienne is their little boy, who just turned 4 years old. He has been involved in ministry since he was born or before. Such a great blessing, he loves music, drawing, being around people, and going to church. Also, another baby is on the way, so your prayers are appreciated.

Today as a family they have the opportunity to serve as missionaries. Esteban is coordinating Communications and Dhariana is coordinating Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, both for the Mesoamerica Region.

Communications: The Church of the Nazarene is going where the church is not yet, to reach people around the world with the message of hope and holiness. Our communications ministry connects passionate people with the missions work of the church to help tell the story of missions and enables more people to join the movement. Together we can see people communities and nations transformed.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is all about equipping churches to be a response to the challenges in their communities, by promoting justice, opening development centers, mobilizing local resources, working in prevention and disaster response. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is also about Child Development and equipping people to live compassion as a lifestyle.

Their vision as a family is to have equipped churches and empowered leaders to proclaim the Gospel to all people in word and deed.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet

Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
