Serving in Guyana on Global Deployment | Mesoamerica
Julie McKeithen grew up a missionary kid in Europe and South America. She moved to the United States in 2007 to study ministry and theatre at Point Loma Nazarene University. Upon graduation, she moved to Colorado Springs and became an associate pastor for the Spanish congregation at Springs First Church of the Nazarene. Then she became an associate pastor at Eastborough Church of the Nazarene serving in the children’s ministry and leading worship. Julie was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene, on the Colorado district, on June 16, 2018.
God called Julie to full-time Christian service when she was 13 and has been assigned by the Church of the Nazarene, starting in July 2018, as a global missionary to the Caribbean Field which has 14 districts, and encompasses 23 countries. The Caribbean Field Office works in English but navigates with countries that speak English, French, and Dutch while the Mesoamerica Regional office operates in Spanish. God is doing wonderful things right now. Julie is living in the country of Guyana and acts as a bridge in communication and administration to help sustain the work God is already doing. By working with the district leaders and ministry coordinators, she is able to support over 27,000 Nazarenes in 264 churches across the Caribbean Field. Julie also enjoys being a part of the local ministry in Guyana by preaching, participating in district NYI and NMI events and playing volleyball with the youth of her church every Sunday night.
Her personal testimony of waiting on God while actively serving Him wherever she lives and in whatever job she has is a powerful example of living a life in obedience to God’s call and impacting the world for Christ.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet
Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
